Drug and Alcohol Level of Care (ASAM) Assessments
A Level of Care Assessment is a thorough and structured assessment process designed to gather information about an individual's patterns of substance use and related behaviors designed by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). It is a comprehensive assessment considering various factors like medical needs, psychological state, social support, and severity of addiction to determine the appropriate level of care. Providers use the ASAM criteria to guide treatment planning and ensure patients receive the most suitable level of care.
These assessments are virtual and completed by trained addiction professionals to assist with identifying a substance use disorder and the necessary services to meet the severity of the disease or to assess for court if there is substance use or abuse and treatment is needed.
